Tricky Tracking
Revisiting tracking drums for the demo, again and again it convinces me that the trickiest part of the task was finding the right pair of shoes and a sweet-sounding vintage Hi Hat. Having that in place was detrimental to the success of the enterprise. The shoes ended up being a pair of thick hiking socks, alternately used with just one Converse Chuck Taylor on the left foot. The Hi Hat, on the other hand, took a bit more research than the shoe-wear. Without getting into the gear geek-talk, suffice to say that the cymbals I found came to two sets. Both vintage (1960-s) and both wicked-sweet sounding.
